~Japan Week~ Day 2: Entertainment and Food

Yesterday: Language and Calligraphy

Today we learned about Japanese food and different forms of Japanese entertainment. We watched a Miyazaki film called "My Neighbor Totoro" and watched YouTube videos of different bands and shows. We looked through pictures of Japanese foods and learned their names and made PB&J sushi for lunch along with some miso soup. After lunch we used Japanese candy kits to enjoy a tasty treat!

Here are some of the vids we watched: (the ones Serenity liked most!)

J-POP: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - CANDY CANDY

J- Metal: BABYMETAL - ギミチョコ!!- Gimme chocolate!!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Japanese

Japanese Game Show: Missing Floor!

Then we took some bread, cut it up, added PB&J, rolled it up, and ate our PB&J sushi rolls. Not to be forgotten is our miso soup! Very tasty!

(Pokemon shirt was a must for today!)

Japanese inspired lunch!

Now its time to do our candy kits!

This one tasted okay not the best thing ever :/ What Serenity said should make it clear, "I like the cone more than the icing..."

Now THIS was delicious (Oishī). They are yummy and adorable...I bought them at a local FYE store and I will be going back soon to look for more!

Tomorrow we will learn about Japanese sports and do fun activities like origami! Check back in each day this summer to see what new things we learn about and try!
